Brandon Police Service Media Release

Break and Enter:

At 2:20 a.m., a homeowner from the 900 Block of Louise Ave east reported that someone entered the house and stole a quantity of cash and some prescription medication. This occurred over a period of two hours when the homeowner was out of the house. Police investigation continues.

Theft Under $5000:

At 9:03 a.m., an employee of a business in the 1500 Block of Princess Avenue called to report that a male entered the business and stole a set of keys from on top of the counter. Police attended and located the male in the area. A 39-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested for Theft Under $5000. The male was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday.

Breach of Recognizance / Consume Liquor Under 18 Years

At 11:05 p.m., Police observed three intoxicated individuals walking in the area of 10th Street and Pacific Avenue. A 25-year-old female from Sioux Valley MB. was one the individuals checked by Police. The female was found to be the subject of a Recognizance with conditions to abstain from the consumption alcohol, observe a curfew and reside at an address in Brandon. The female was arrested for Breach of Recognizance and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday.

A 17-year-old female was also checked by Police and found to be intoxicated. The female was arrested under the LCGA for consuming liquor under 18 years of age. This female was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.

The third individual checked, a 20-year-old male from Brandon was also intoxicated. This male was arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.

Other Arrests:

In separate and unrelated incidents, a 21-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act. Both were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.
