Brandon Police Service Media Release

Impaired Driving:

At approximately 6:47 a.m., an off duty Police Officer while on route to work reported a vehicle swerving on the road and almost caused an accident. Officers attended, stopped the vehicle on Parkdale Drive and the driver appeared to be impaired. The male driver was arrested for Impaired Driving and was transported to the Brandon Police Service where samples of his breath were obtained which were in excess of double the legal limit. The 39-year-old male from Brandon was released to attend court later this month, charged with Impaired Driving and Driver Over 80 mg%.

Arrest Warrants Executed:

At 11:10 a.m., Police attended  a residence on Baker Bay to attempt to arrest a male with an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Robbery and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The 18-year-old male was located, arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

At 2:00 p.m., Police attended to a business in the 1100 Block of Rosser Avenue in attempt to arrest a male with an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for 37 counts of Fail to Comply with Health Act. The 41-year-old man from Brandon was located and arrested. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

At 12:15 a.m., a male attended to the Brandon Police Service and turned himself in on an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation. The 35-year-old male was arrested and released to attend Court in June.

 

Breach of Undertaking:

At 10:34 p.m., officers observed a male youth walking in the 300 Block of 6th Street and were aware the youth was bound by at 10:00 p.m. curfew as per an Undertaking. The youth was arrested and released to attend Court in June.

Other Arrests:

On Wednesday evening, Police located a male behind a building in the 800 Block of Pacific Avenue. The male was intoxicated and in possession of open liquor. The 46-year-old male from Brandon was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.
