Break and Enter:

At 09:50am, Police received a report of a break and enter to garage in the 3800 block of Park Ave. The walk in door was kicked in over night. This incident is still under investigation.

Assault (Domestic), Breach of Court Order, Warrant of Arrest x2:

On Tuesday at 3:00pm, Police were called to the area of the 900 block of Rosser Ave for a male and female fighting. Upon Police arrival both the male and female attempted to flee the area but both were stopped. The female disclosed being assaulted by the male. Police learnt the male had two outstanding warrants for his arrest and a Court Order not to communicate with the female. A 47yr old male was arrested for Domestic Assault, Breach of Court Order and two outstanding Warrants of Arrest for Fail to attend Court. The male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre for Court in the morning.

Breach of Probation (warrant), Breach of Probation:

On Tuesday at 5:31pm, a female reported that her boyfriend got angry and made threats of harming himself. Police attended to a residence in the 2300 block of Brandon Ave and located the male. Police learnt the male had an outstanding Virden RCMP warrant of arrest for Breach of Probation and that the male was breaching a probation condition by contacting the female caller. A 24yr old Sioux Valley First Nation man was arrested and released for Court in June.

Assault Domestic:

On Wednesday morning at 01:46am, Police received a report of a female being assaulted by a male. Police attended to a residence in the 100 block of 3rd Street and located the intoxicated male. Police learnt that the male assaulted the female by kneeing her in the head and punching her in the arm. A 27yr old Brandon man was arrested for Domestic Assault and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released when sober. The male will appear in Court in June.

Weapon Offences, CDSA Charges:

On Tuesday, as a result of ongoing CSU investigation, 5 people were arrested in relation to a search warrant executed at a residence in the 200 block of Rosser Ave East. The search warrant was in relation to CDSA and Criminal Code offences.

As a result of traffic stops and search of the residence, Police seized a sawed off semi-auto shotgun, loaded, an ammo belt with 14 12gauge shells, a .22 calibre hand gun with a banana style clip with 2 rounds, two cans of bear spray, 16 .32 calibre rifle cartridges and 80 grams of Marihuana. In total, 20 Criminal Code and CDSA charges were laid and 4 Warrants of Arrest executed.

A 27yr old Brandon man was arrested and charged with Unsafe storage of Firearm, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon, Unauthorized possession of a Firearm in a motor vehicle, Possess Firearm contrary to prohibition and Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Attend Court. The male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in Court on May 10th.

A 24yr old Winnipeg man was arrested and charged with Carry concealed Weapon, Unsafe storage of Firearm, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon, Unauthorized possession of a Firearm in a motor vehicle and Possess Firearm contrary to prohibition. The male was lodged at BCC and will appear in Court on May 10th.

A 19yr old Brandon woman was arrested and charged with Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2 and Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under. The female released to appear in Court in June.

A 16yr old Brandon female youth was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana, Unsafe storage of Ammunition and Warrant of Arrest for Assault with a Weapon. The female was released to appear in Court in June.

A 26yr old Griswold, Mb man was arrested on the strength of an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation. The male was released to appear in Court in July.

This incident is still under investigation.

Other Arrests:

1 person was arrested and detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act.
