Brandon Police Service Media Release

Domestic Assault:

At 2:18 p.m., a female called Police reporting being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend outside of an apartment in the 600 Block of Douglas Street. Police attended and learned that a verbal confrontation led to the ex-boyfriend pushing the female victim into a wall. The victim did not sustain physical injuries from the assault. The male left prior to Police attending however was located a short time later. A 27- year- old male from Brandon was arrested fro Domestic Assault and was released to attend Court in June.

Arrest Warrants executed:

At 3:02 p.m., Police attended to a residence in the 300 Block of 11th Street after receiving information that a female youth was present and has a Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Undertaking. The youth was uncooperative and when arrested caused damaged to the rear of the Police vehicle by kicking at the door repeatedly. The 15 year old female youth was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Monday and was additionally arrested for Mischief to Property Under $5000.

Drive while Disqualified:

At 10:45 a.m., Police stopped a vehicle in the 700 Block of 24th Street. The male driver was found to be Disqualified from Driving Canada Wide. A 23-year-old male from Brandon was arrested and released to attend Court in July.

Break & Enter:

At 3:19 p.m., Police attended to an apartment in the 500 Block of 7th Street to a report of a Break and Enter, which was reported to have occurred between 6:00 p.m. on May 6th and 3:00 p.m. on May 7th. The front door to the apartment appeared to have been pried open and a stereo and television stolen. Police continue to investigate with no suspects identified as of yet.
