NEWS RELEASE: Online Crime Map

The Brandon Police Service is pleased to introduce an online Crime Mapping tool that provides timely information to our citizens, about crimes happening in our community. The Brandon Police Service is committed to community safety. The goal of Crime Mapping is to improve community awareness of police activity so that we can work in partnership to build a safer community. Users will be able to search recent occurrences by time period and crime types. The mapping application accesses information for the specific date range and can retrieve and display information dating back six months.

The Brandon Police Service Crime Mapping tool was developed in collaboration with the City of Brandon geomatics specialists in the Department of Engineering.

Brandon Police Service Chief Ian Grant is proud to introduce the Crime Mapping tool. “This Crime Mapping tool is our own and will provide significant benefits to the citizens of Brandon. We were previously paying for a similar Crime Mapping program from a private company. We found it more cost effective to develop our own program. Our Crime Mapping program will have no cost and will also provide greater accuracy of information as all reports will be assessed by the Brandon Police Service Crime Analyst``.

The information on Crime Mapping is based on initial reports to Police. As investigations progress, reports may be subject to change. Users should also note that Brandon Police Service Crime Mapping only displays selected crimes and does not represent all calls for service. Any comparison between statistics provided on the website with any other publication containing Brandon Police crime statistics is not recommended.

The Brandon Police Service Crime Mapping is launched as a pilot project and we are interested in community feedback. Feedback can be sent via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
