POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING METHAMPHETAMINE

 

On Thursday at 8:19 PM, Police conducted a traffic stop on Provincial Highway #10. A search of the driver and vehicle resulted in the recovery 200 grams of Methamphetamine, $300 cash and an open box of 7mm bullets and a magazine containing three 7mm bullets. A 31-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Unsafe Storage of Ammunition. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday.

 

CARE AND CONTROL WHILE IMPAIRED 

AT 11:58 PM, Police received a call-reporting people sitting in a vehicle drinking in a parking lot in the 6000 Block of Victoria Avenue East. As Police approached the vehicle, a female occupying the driver seat was observed drinking from a bottle. The driver and female passenger in the vehicle both exited and the driver displayed signs of impairment. The driver was transported to Brandon Police Service and refused to provide samples of her breath. A 34-year-old female from Rivers, MB was arrested for Care and Control while Impaired and Refuse Breathalyzer. The female was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court on April 27th.  

 

ARREST WARRANTS EXECUTED

 

During the Care and Control while Impaired investigation, a female passenger from the vehicle was found to have an Endorsed Warrant for her Arrest for Breach of Probation. The 36-year-old female from Brandon was arrested and released to attend Court in May.

 

On Thursday evening, a 26-year-old man from Virden turned himself into Police for having an Unendorsed Warrant for his Arrest for Driving While Disqualified. The man was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday.

 

On Thursday evening, Police attended to an address in the 1000 Block of Rosser Ave and arrested a 41-year-old man for having an Unendorsed Warrant for his Arrest for Failing to Comply with Hazard Order and Operating a Food Establishment without a Permit. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday.

 

A 39-year-old man from Brandon turned himself into Police for having a Parole Suspension Warrant. The man was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday.

 

At 3:56 AM, Police responded to a disturbance in the 500 Block of 34th Street. A 38-year-old female involved in the disturbance was found to have an Endorsed Warrant for her Arrest for Assault and Fail to Attend Court. The female was released to attend Court in May.

 

STRUCTURE FIRE

 

At 2:48 AM, Police and Fire members attended to a structure fire in the 300 Block of 2nd Street. The single car garage of the residence was engulfed in flames however extinguished by Brandon Fire and Emergency Services. Investigation indicated that the cause of the fire is suspicious. The entire south end of the garage was destroyed by the fire with damages estimated at approximatley $15, 000. Investigation continues into the cause of the fire and suspects who may be responsible.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT / CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON

 

At 1:13 PM, a female attended to the Brandon Police Service and indicated that she was just assaulted by her boyfriend and he threatened to kill her. The assault consisted of punches to the victim’s stomach and face. The 32 year old male suspect was located walking in the 700 Block of Victoria Avenue. The male was arrested for Domestic Assault and Uttering Threats. A search of the man recovered a large machete and a cell phone. The man is subject to a Recognizance order with conditions not to possess a cell phone and not to possess any weapons. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday. The victim sustained minor physical injuries because of the assault.

 

SHOPLIFTING

At 12:48 PM, Police were called to a business in the 1500 Block of 18th Street after security apprehended a 40-year-old female for stealing merchandise.  The female was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and released to attend Court in June.

 

 BREAK AND ENTER

 

At 11:18 AM, a resident on Kelsey Bay reported that the attached garage was entered sometime overnight and an IPAD was stolen from a vehicle parked within. There are no suspects at this time and Police continue to investigate.
