Domestic Assault:

Police received a report from a female victim that she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.  In speaking with the victim, it was learned that the accused allegedly grabbed her and pushed her face into the floor.  Further investigation revealed there had been other incidents recently where the same accused had assaulted and threatened her, while armed with a knife.  The 26 year-old Brandon male was located, arrested and later lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear on 4 charges of assault, 3 charges of Uttering Threats, 2 charges of Breach of Probation and 1 charge of Assault with a Weapon.


Assault with a Weapon:

At approx. 1:30 AM this morning a 15-year-old Brandon male attended to a residence in the 600 block of McDiarmid Dr.  While there, the accused sprayed his sister with bear mace.  The accused was located a short distance away where he was arrested and later released on a promise to appear.  He will appear in court on May 16th 2017.

Breach of Undertaking:

At approx. 3:15 this morning, police were called to the 300 block of 16th St for a group of kids yelling in the area.  Officers located an 18-year-old Brandon male in the area who was intoxicated.  A check of the male revealed he is the subject of an Undertaking with the condition that he not consume alcohol.  He was arrested and later released with a court date of May 15th, 2017.

Theft Under $5000:

At approx. 3:30 PM Thursday afternoon 2 Brandon females were observed fleeing from a store in the Corral Centre after attempting to steal merchandise valued at approx. $237.  Police attended to the area and arrested the suspects.  Both accused were later released and will appear in court on June 15th, 2017 charged for theft under $5000.

Other Arrests:

  • 3 males were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act
