At 1:41 PM, a 911 call was received reporting a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle in the 200 Block of 18th Street North. The 50-year-old male operator of the motorcycle was transported to BRHC for treatment of an abrasion to his leg. No other injuries have been reported and Police continue to investigate factors leading to the cause of the accident.


At 3:55 PM, a 911 call was received advising a vehicle struck a child in the 2600 Block of Richmond Avenue. Investigation revealed that a 7-year-old female exited a city bus that stopped in the 1500 Block of 26th Street southbound lane. The child crossed in front of the stopped bus, attempted to cross the street, and was struck by a vehicle that was westbound from Richmond Avenue and made a Southbound turn onto 26th Street. The child was transported to BRHC and was treated for minor injuries. No charges are pending because of this accident.




At 2:30 PM, an 18-year-old female from Brandon turned herself into Police on the outstanding endorsed warrant of arrest for Fail to Appear for Prints. The female was released to attend Court in May.


 At 2:56 PM, Police attended to a residence in the 300 Block of 10th Street for a disturbance. A male provided Police with a false name in attempt to mislead Police however, Police knew the man. The man was found to be the subject of an Undertaking with conditions not to consume alcohol, not to change address without Court approval, and not to possess a cell phone. The man was also found to have a Warrant for his Arrest for Surety Revocation. The 22-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Breach of Undertaking, Public Mischief and the Arrest Warrant. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.  




At 1:00 PM, Police received a call from a female reporting being assaulted by her brother while at her residence. Police attended and the male had left prior to police arriving. The victim reported being aggressively pushed and shoved by her brother who was intoxicated. At 6:00 PM, Police attended a call of an intoxicated male in the 400 Block of 11th Street, which turned out to be the suspect in the assault. A 24-year-old man from Portage was arrested for Assault and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court in May.  The victim did not sustain physical injuries as a result of the assault.




A 43-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Theft Under $5000 as a result of a theft of a key to a business in the 1000 Block of Pacific Avenue which occurred on April 6th.  For security reasons locks had to be changed because of the theft. The male was released to attend Court in June.





On Wednesday morning, Police attended to a residence in the 300 Block of 18th Street for a well being check. A male fled from Police who was bound by both a Recognizance and an Undertaking to have not contact or communication with two people who reside in the residence. A 23-year-old man from Brandon later turned himself into Police and was arrested for Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Undertaking. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.
