Possess Controlled Substance:

A 20yr old Brandon man was arrested for Possess a Controlled Substance. The man was located lying close the corner of 1st Street and McTavish Ave, after being awoken he became combative and belligerent. A search located 7 flaps of a crystal like substance thought to be MDMA in his pocket. The male was lodged at BCC to be released until sober to appear in Court on May 11th.

Break and Enter and Theft:

On Tuesday, a resident in the 2900 block of Park Ave reported that sometime between 4:00pm on April 10th and 8:00am on April 11th someone entered their unlocked shed and attached garage. A white GT Hybrid Bicycle (across between mountain and road bike) was stolen. This incident is still under investigation.

Theft Under:

An ongoing investigation from March 4th 2017 of theft under from a residence in the 700 block Rosser Ave East revealed that a 20yr old Brandon man was responsible for the theft. The male is currently an inmate at BCC was arrested and will appear in Court in the morning.

Warrant Executed:

On April 7th Police conducted a person check on a female in the 1100 block of Rosser Ave. Police learnt of an unendorsed Warrant of Arrest with a radius of the City of Winnipeg. Police sent a message to Winnipeg Police Service if they would like to extend the warrant to include Brandon. On Tuesday, Winnipeg extended the warrant to include Brandon and police attended to the residence of the female and arrested a 31yr old Brandon woman for the outstanding warrant for Fail to Attend Court x2, Assault x2 and Fail to Attend Prints. The female was lodged at BCC and will appear in Court in the morning.

On Tuesday, while investigating an unrelated matter, Police located a female and learnt she had an endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Assault Peace Officer. The 29yr old Brandon woman was arrested and released to appear in Court on May 8th.

On Tuesday at 6:42pm, Police conducted a person check at 9th Street and Pacific Ave with a female. Police learnt the female had an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Comply with Probation Order. A 34yr old  Brandon woman was arrested and released to appear in Court on May 15th.

Breach of Court Order:

A 25yr old man in custody at the Brandon Correctional Centre was arrested for Breach of Court Order after contacting a female by phone contrary to his In-Custody Non-Communication Order. The male was arrested and will appear in Court in the morning.

Theft of Motor Vehicle and HTA Offences:

On March 30th the complainant contacted Police reporting that he was attempting to sell his vehicle and has not been returned. A female attended, indicated she had a driver’s license and took the vehicle for a test drive. She phoned the owner advising him she would take the vehicle. The female never returned with the vehicle and the complainant contacted Police.  On March 31st the vehicle was located in the 400 block of Louise Ave locked and unattended. A 30yr old Brandon woman was located, arrested for Theft of Motor Vehicle and lodged at BCC. Police learnt the female had a disqualified drivers license and charged the female with Drive while Disqualified and Drive without Drivers Liability Insurance under Highway Traffic Act. The female will appear in Court in the morning.

Theft Under x2:

On April 11th Police received a complaint from staff at business in the 1000 block of Richmond Ave, reporting that the suspects that had stolen items from a different business a few days earlier were in their store. The staff recognized the male and female from seeing them on social media. Police attended and apprehended both suspects for theft under. The female had items in her backpack and the male had attempted to leave the store with a shopping cart full of items but instead left the cart inside the building. In relation to the theft prior, the two suspects were identified by the video surveillance from business in the 200 block of 16th Street North for stealing a laptop on April 10th. A 43yr old man and a 40yr old woman of no fixed address were arrested for Theft Under x2 and lodged at BCC for Court in the morning.

Impaired Driving, Drive Over.08:

On Wednesday morning at 1:16am, Police were at the intersection of 3rd Street and Rosser Ave observed a white Chev Silverado heading west on Rosser Ave at high rate of speed. Police stopped the vehicle in the 600 block of Rosser Ave. An odor of alcohol was detected and the male driver subsequently failed the roadside test. The driver was arrested and transported to Brandon Police station where two breathe samples were obtained exceeding the legal limit. A 25yr old Ste. Anne, Mb man was arrested for Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80mg%. The male was released for Court on April 18th.

Other Arrests:

Two people were arrested and detained at BCC for Breach of the Peace.
