POSSESSION OF FIREARM / IMPAIRED DRIVING

 

At 4:35 PM, Police received a phone call from a female who resides in the West End of Brandon reporting that her ex-boyfriend has been sitting out front of her residence in a vehicle and throwing things at the house. Police attended to the area and observed the suspect vehicle driving south on 34th Street. Police followed the vehicle until more Police officers could get into the area. Police attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on Linden Boulevard however, the driver of the vehicle and ex-boyfriend of the complainant fled from the vehicle on foot. Some Officers remained with the vehicle, which contained four passengers while others pursued the male driver on foot. The male driver who was known to Police was eventually apprehended after being Tasered on Neepawa Drive.  A 12 gauge shot gun was found on the driver’s seat of the vehicle. After being taken into custody, the driver of the vehicle displayed signs of Impairment. He was arrested and transported to the Brandon Police Service where samples of his breath were obtained which exceeded double the legal limit.

 

The 24- year- old male driver with no fixed address was arrested for Impaired Driving, Drive Over 80mg%, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized,  Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order, Mischief to Property and Uttering Threats. The male is also bound by a Probation Order to Not Contact or Communicate with the complainant and was found to have a Warrants for his Arrest for six counts of Breach of Probation and Fail to Attend Court. The male was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

A 21- year- old man from Crane River Manitoba and a passenger in the vehicle was arrested for Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized,  Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order and a warrant of Arrest for Public Mischief. The male was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

A 20-year-old male from Brandon and passenger in the vehicle was arrested for Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle and two warrants of Arrest for Mischief to Property and Fail to Attend Court. The male was released to attend Court in May.

 

A 20- year- old male from Brandon and passenger in the vehicle was arrested for Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle and Breach of Undertaking. The male was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

A 24-year-old female from Brandon and passenger in the vehicle was arrested for Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle.  The female was released to attend Court in May.

 

ARREST WARRANTS EXECUTED

 

On Monday morning, a 53-year-old male from Brandon attended to the Brandon Police Service and turned himself in on an Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for being Unlawfully at Large. The male was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Monday afternoon.

 

A 15- year- old female from Sioux Valley, Manitoba was arrested for having an Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Attend Court. She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Monday afternoon.

 

CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON

 

At 10:25 PM, a 22-year-old male attended to the Brandon Police Service claiming several males in vehicles were chasing him. The man was found to be paranoid and under the influence of a drug. The man had a filleting knife with the handle wrapped in tape hidden within his waistband. The man was arrested for Carrying a Concealed Weapon and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court in June.

 

BREACH OF RECOGNIZNCE

 

At 9:03 PM, a female contacted Police advising that her ex-boyfriend had contacted her numerous times while bound by a Court Order not to do so.  While Police were speaking to the complainant, the ex-boyfriend attempted on five occasions to contact her. The 22-year-old male from Brandon was located at his residence and arrested for Breach of Recognizance. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVING

 

At 1:28 AM, a Police Officer was exiting the Police Service parking lot and observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was then observed swerving and a vehicle stop was conducted in the 1000 Block of College Avenue. Several open cans of beer were observed in the vehicle and the driver displayed signs of Impairment. The 25-year-old male driver from Brandon was transported to the Brandon Police Service where breath samples were obtained which exceeded the legal limit. The male was arrested for Impaired Driving and Driver over 80mg%. The male was released to attend Court on April 10th.

 

ASSAULT

 

On Monday afternoon, Police attended to a disturbance at a residence in the 800 Block of 11th Street for a male who was acting out of control. A 17-year-old male youth from the residence assaulted another person by pushing and spitting on the victim. The male was arrested for Assault and released to attend Court in May.

 

OTHER ARRESTS

 

A 36-year-old male inmate from the Brandon Correctional Center was arrested for Breach of Probation for contacting a female while bound by a Probation Order not to do so. The male will appear in Court on April 4th.

 

A 42-year-old female from Brandon was arrested for Breach of the Peace and detained at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.

 

An 18-year-old man from Brandon was arrested and detained at the Brandon Correctional Center for Breach of the Peace after being located intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the 100 Block of 11th Street. The male is to be released when sober.
