A 24 year old woman from Shoal Lake turned herself in on Friday morning and was arrested for Theft Under $5000.  She had stole $65 in cleaning supplies from a business on 18th St North on March 15th.  She was identified by police and charged. She will appear in court in May.

Domestic Assault/Possession of a Weapon

On Friday afternoon, officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1000 block of 7th ST.  A man and a woman were involved in an argument at the residence and the woman revealed she had been assaulted.  The man was arrested for assault and transported to the police service station.  While in custody at the station, he was identified as the suspect responsible for a theft from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave on March 9th.  The suspect in that incident had pulled a knife on the loss prevention officer and was able to avoid arrest at that time.  He was identified from surveillance video from the business.  The man, a 21 year old from Brandon, has been charge with Assault, Theft Under $5000 and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous purpose and will appear in court in May.

The female victim of the assault was wanted on several warrants held by the Winnipeg Police Service. She was also arrested and later released to appear in court in Winnipeg in May.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

The owner of a stolen BMW which had been taken for a test drive by a woman and not returned, located his vehicle in the 400 block of Louise Ave on Friday afternoon.  The vehicle was towed to the police service to be fingerprinted. 

Domestic Assault

Shortly after 7:00 pm on Friday evening, officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 300 block of 11th St.  The female victim had texted her father asking him to call police.  The female suffered a swollen eye in a physical altercation with her spouse.  The man, a 44 year old Brandon resident, was arrested for the assault and breaching a court for communicating with the woman. He will appear in court on Saturday morning.

Other Arrests

5 people were arrested for breaching various court orders.

2 people were lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
