How Do I...?

Chaplaincy Program

The Chaplain for the Brandon Police Services serves as a safe spiritual and emotional resource person to the officers and staff at Brandon Police Service and their families.  This service is available on the basis of trust that the Chaplain builds over time.  The Chaplain is there to serve regardless of one’s faith background.

Mike Waddell came into the role of Chaplain in May of 2009 and brings a background of community service from a non-denominational Christian perspective.  As a husband to Naomi and a father to four children Mike believes that the first priority for everyone is relationships.  With that in mind Mike spends time listening to and getting to know the officers and staff in a variety of settings.  The Chaplain is also an on call position in the event that the services are needed in a state of crisis.

Mike has served as a youth worker in Brandon’s High Schools with Youth for Christ, he still serves as the Chaplain to the Brandon Wheat Kings with Hockey Ministries International and now works full time with Power to Change as the Manitoba representative.
