Process Server Duties
Brandon Police Service employs one By-Law Officer responsible for processing and serving all documents issued by the Courts directed to civilians in accordance with statutory requirements.
The Process Server receives subpoenas from the Crowns office and is responsible for locating and serving witnesses for trials (Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act). As well, serving summons for court to those dealing with outstanding charges or breaches. The Process Server liaises with Canada wide agencies who require service within the City limits.
On a daily basis, all charges laid and warrant requests by the Brandon Police Service are sworn at the court house in front of a Judicial Justice of the Peace.
